My family and I have come to this campground 2 times a year every year for the past 6 years. We have always enjoyed the time with our family and relaxing from work. Yes the interstate causes noise but with the location, it's expected. This is a beautiful park and close to where we live which makes it very convenient. With all places you go there is always that one little thing to complain about. Well after 6 years with different management I have something that bothers me enough to post about it. My family and I just got here Sunday morning. It was a hot day but we had fun. We went to the bath house at the top of the hill around 8:30 p.m. after the sun set so we could cool off and clean up. The water was hotter than the water I put in my coffee. We quickly finished our showers and returned to our camp site. Today I went looking for Gene (manager) I'm assuming and informed him of the uncomfortable conditions in that shower house. He was very rude and inconsiderate about the situation but did state that he would readjust the controls. Hopefully will know something tonight but I just wanted to share this experience because I'm sure I'm not the only person he has...
Read moreIts a beautiful campground. None of the tent sites have water or power and you're not allowed to set up a tent on an rv site. But we knew this coming in. The freeway is close but becomes white noise after a while. The lake and the spots are beautiful. We were assigned a tent site but upon arrival, someone was in our site. He regularly camps here and informed us that the tent sites are first come first serve. That was fine because we found a nice secluded spot. Now, for the 3 star review. We were here Sunday and Monday. Some sort of church revival was set up on the hill by the playground. We're Christians so we did not have a problem with that. The bad part is that the services went on all day, both days. Whoever was giving the sermon felt the need to scream his entire message. Then, every hymn and song was blasted over outside speakers that could be heard across the entire campground. I don't know about you but we camp to enjoy each other's company and conversations along with the sounds of nature. I don't know if this is a permanent thing or if we were just unlucky. If it wasn't for that, we would have given this...
Read moreThis is a three out of five star location. The nature here is awesome. You are surrounded by water. The Tennessee River and Lake Nickajack. This allows for fishing, Kayaks, any and all boats, jet ski's etc... A two lane boat ramp here on grounds to launch your water vehicle. Plenty of nature to discover here. RV camping has water and electric on the sites. Tent camping is primitive. The tent sites touch the water. You can see and hear I 24 from your tent site. No water. No electricity on the tent sites, so come prepared for that.Tent sites are $15 per night, so you can't beat that! I saw only one shower for Men. I believe also one shower for Women. This one Mens shower was filthy and looked like it had not been cleaned in decades. There is also a playground there for the kids to play on. There is also a day use section here that closes at Sundown. Walmart is located on I 24 exit #152, about ten miles away or so by the dollar tree and the fantastic Chinese food restaurant. Buy your groceries or eat out. That is your option. Overall a pretty nice...
