On the 4th of July this year I attended a blues event at Cedar Ridge Distillery in Swisher. It is a real gem, hidden right off hwy 380 south of Cedar Rapids. All was superb except I left my expensive brand new prescription sunglasses on the table as the end of the night closed in. Surely the staff cleared the tables and it would be in lost and found....unfortunately I never reclaimed them. I'm not sure where they went but I called several times to see if they had been turned in. After 3-4 calls I struck out and then began talking to the general manager. I received Star treatment from the GM, and she was very helpful. They even checked the security camera to see if that would give a clue, but it didn't. I was so impressed with their staff and their GM in particular. She knew how to treat the situation properly and I can not ask for anything more than what I received. She even send a gift card and invited me back to eat and drink on her. It really restored my faith in the way business should be done and I felt like they had done everything. So I thought I'd let all of you out there know what a caring and professional outfit Cedar Ridge Distillery in Swisher, Iowa really is! Go check it out, you will love the experience and their...

Awesome Sunday brunch with a great variety, great drink specials, and an Amazing tour (and even live music!) We went because I have had the Cedar Ridge Bourbon and enjoyed it and wanted a tour of the facility. Searching the website, I found out that Cedar Ridge offers a Sunday brunch... Even better with smoked brisket! I made reservations (recommend) and traveled with friends to visit and share in the experience. It was well worth the two hour drive just for the brunch. The tour was even better! Our guide Valerie was amazing and very knowledgeable. She used to work part time in the distillery so she was a wealth of information. She explained the entire distilling process in great detail. Our group was asking deep questions, so she even spent time with us showing the solera cask process for the newly released Quintessential single malt whiskey. She even stayed behind and continued to talk with the group after our "time" was up and helped take pictures. The hostess (I never did catch her name), was very attentive and helped a lot while we were deciding on what wine to get and watch the live music. The entire staff was very friendly.

Summary: Beautiful facility. Great staff. Awesome food and drinks. Amazing...

Horrible lunch service. Today they never delivered both my wife and my meals. My wife let hers get cold before she ate. Mine never arrived. Asked the waitress three times to check on it and she blew us off saying it would be here any minute. She never asked the kitchen. So when my wife finished her lunch we decided to leave. Since you prepay for food there I went to the bar for a credit to my credit card. You’d think I asked them to crack the atom. Never got a credit but got another credit card charge for a lower amount. I told them I just wanted a credit, I didn’t have an open account. It was closed after the first charge. I didn’t have any more patience for them so I just signed the lowered amount and was assured the original charge would be removed. Checked my credit card statement tonight and of course they charged me the original amount and I expect to see the lower charge too. What a rip off. I’ll fix it by disputing the charge with my credit card company but what a hassle. Never going back. Buyer beware. Don’t...

Wood-fired pizzas, gouda, smoked meats, and carmelized onions are some of my favorite things. So the smoked gouda and ribeye pizza should have blown me away, I know I was practically drooling from reading the description on the menu. Sadly, the crust was lackluster and the meat was chewy. The other elements were fine but didn't stand out to make up for the disappointing elements. The price isn't unreasonable for the kind of place it is, especially not if they had delivered with flavor. But since it's a distillery/winery you feel pressured (by the rest of your table, not the staff, they were great) to get a flight of drinks to try. I got the sweet flight of wines... they were typical "take it or leave it" wines, more sweet than flavor underneath, one tasting like a Jolly Rancher. Overall, though, it is a lovely atmosphere and looks quite nice! It's just not somewhere I have much vested interest in returning to because I am all in it for the food

Planning a wedding miles away is not only challenging but also frightening. You have to rely & believe in vendors and people via email and phone call only. Choosing Cedar Ridge for my wedding venue and working with Jessica and her team was the best decision I made & one that I’ll make again and again for future events. The place is breathless with all the grapevines. It almost felt like you’re in middle of Tuscan but at a much reasonable budget. The food was plentiful & 5 star chief quality. Jessica and her team made it all a dream by their helpful service & smiles. They even went above duty & took a stressful step from me in the process. It was heartwarming to walk in the room after our ceremony and find everything so magical. It truly left a special touch in our heart along with all of my guests and family. There’s really not enough words that could express our appreciation & love for Cedar Ridge, we are truly grateful❣️
