The Midnight Gem — Attraction in Jefferson Township

We cannot say enough wonderful things about The Midnight Gem. From start to finish, the experience was seamless and stress-free. The facilities were absolutely beautiful, spacious, spotless, and so well maintained. Walking in on the morning of our wedding to a clean, stunning space that was completely ready for setup made the day start off perfectly.

The staff was incredibly responsive and organized, and they worked so smoothly with all of our vendors. We were impressed by how easy communication was through email, and every question we had was answered quickly and clearly.

The venue itself has so many thoughtful amenities included, from decor options like arches, pillars, and runners to fun outdoor features like the golfing green, bean bags, patio furniture, heat lamps, and fire tables. Our guests loved exploring all the different spaces.

One of our favorite parts was the bridal and groom suites. They were absolutely gorgeous and so functional. The bridal suite easily fit a team of five hair and makeup artists without feeling crowded, and it made getting ready such a relaxing and enjoyable experience.

We also took advantage of a few of their add-on services, including the mobile bar for our cocktail hour, which was such a hit, and the breakfast and coffee delivery from their sister company the morning of the wedding, which was a total lifesaver.

The entire team at The Midnight Gem was professional, friendly, and worked together effortlessly to make sure our day went off without a hitch. We truly could not have asked for a better venue. My husband and I had a ~250 person wedding reception at The Midnight Gem on 11/10/2023. We booked the venue while it was still under construction and are so happy we did! The venue is so beautiful and so wonderfully operated. We would choose The Midnight Gem over and over again without a second thought. The staff at The Midnight Gem were easy to work with throughout the entire planning process, no matter if it was a simple e-mail question here or there or at the 2 planning meetings. A few things had changed from our original conversations to the time of our wedding and the staff honored the items that had been previously discussed, which highlights the good business ran by this venue. They truly want to help you have the best (and as stress-free) day as possible

The bride and groom's suites are gorgeous and spacious. The putting green outside (which initially I thought we wouldn't use) ended up being a hit with keeping kids entertained during the reception.

Our wedding was located off-site, and the location of The Midnight Gem is great for anyone getting married in the Iowa City or Cedar Rapids area. Having the exclusive partnership with the Avid Hotel just down the road make transportation to the venue/back to the hotel a non-issue.

I cannot say enough about the Midnight Gem. Seriously - book them asap. As a wedding florist- I work at many wedding venues. Most have great buildings, but not often enough do they have great staff. Midnight has both! Jordan (the owner) has personally picked up my calls and helped brainstorm some ideas for a wedding we had together. Each coordinator (but special shout out to Bailee) has been wonderful to work with. They are prompt, kind, and so very helpful before the wedding and especially the day of.
