We love this location, we have been coming here every weekend for 6 years. Its so nice to relax. I wish the people pulling their nets would be considerate of the fish and at least attempt to throw them all back. We pull our net and everything we catch (unless its the shrimp) go back into the water, small fish or not. Horseshoe crabs are always flipped over for some strange reason and I find myself saving the day too often. PLEASE RESPECT THE LOCAL WILDLIFE! GO THE EXTRA MILE AND TAKE THE TIME TO PUT THEM BACK IN THE WATER! The location is 5* (aside from the always dirty restrooms) the people who trash it are the only negatives, but thank you to the people who go behind others and pick up their trash like us. You...

If you are a beachgoer, explore other options. If you are looking to fish or net bait and more, go enjoy!

A great beach to fish or net shrimp. Many individuals, couples, and families were fishing and netting.

If you are a beachgoer the people netting were not courteous or aware of personal space. I would not recommend this beach for a family that is looking to enjoy the water and relax. The showers are not near the bathrooms for changing. Little parking for how crowded the area can become. At high tide, much of the...

Have been coming to Jekyll for nearly 35 years. Our family owns a home on Jekyll island. I wanted to walk the beach and just enjoy some quiet time. St. Andrew's beach was the only place on the island I could go that wasn't overly crowded with tourists. Miss the old Jekyll..it's becoming another St. Simons. So sad. St. Andrew's is a pretty beach..beautiful driftwood. It's on the salt marsh side so no swimming for me. They do allow swimming at your own risk..no lifeguard and water pretty murky. Lots of gnats and flies...

Poor beach park signage from the main road. Modest number of parking spots. Too much handicapped parking - probably too far from the beach and bathrooms to be very helpful. Paved path covered in windblown sand made the wildlife viewing platform /beach trail inaccessible for wheelchairs or unstable walkers. Short walk to sturdy raised platform overlooking inlet and beach. Signage and exhibits described history of local enslaved people. Not crowded on this cool, blustery January day.

Beautiful beach spot with a nice quiet picnic area near the parking lot, restrooms, and wash area. The beach itself is also beautiful. The water is shallow enough for young kids to enjoy with low anxiety from the parents. There were dolphin a plenty for us to watch which was very exiting and the drift wood nearby was so cool to see. There was great shaded area to set up your spot with no need for your umbrellas which made it so enjoyable. I'd absolutely recommend going here.

The beach itself offered a wide stretch of soft sand that was perfect for our children to play on. This gave us a chance to explore beyond the beach and enjoy the natural scenery of Jekyll Island. Beach encapsulates what a family beach day should be – fun, safe, and memorable. Its combination of natural beauty and thoughtful amenities make it a must-visit destination for families exploring Jekyll Island. We left with sandy feet, happy hearts, and
