This is a great beach for pups, humans less so. The water is beautiful and the sand is really nice BUT if you are wanting to swim with your pup wear some kind of thick soled water shoes. 2 feet into the water it turns to limestone with holes and jagged edges that will hurt/cut your feet if they are bare or unless you have tough feet. I will come back here with my yorkie and pit/hound mix but if I am wanting to get in the water myself I will leave them at home and go to a different section of beach.
And of course please only take your dog here if they are dog friendly. Do not bring your aggressive dog here if they are not ok with being approached by kids/dogs/adults. The dogs are allowed off leash and will have other pups and people come up to them to say hi. If you are unsure leave the pup at home or put a muzzle on them and keep...
Read moreOne of my dog's best days - Ever! Went during the week, including Friday (left at 1:00 p.m.) before Memorial Day. There was a maximum of four dogs at any one time. Great long beach for running and playing. The showers/bathrooms are being redone. The one shower that was available did not work very well. There's a faucet to wash your feet off, and if your fur baby is small you can probably use the faucet to get the sand off their paws. There is a restroom. Free parking and there is handicap parking. Pros: Lots of running room on the beach for dogs and people. Free parking. Restrooms are available. Handicap parking available. Not many people/dogs on the beach during the week. Open every day. Cons: No rinse off area for the dogs. The three days we were there the surf was very rough and lots of seaweed, but we still had...
Read moreBest place to be update ; 8/24/2018when the fishermen don't leave their half cut up fish on the beach for our dogs to find. This is the only official dog beach in the area and it is flooded with fisherman in the morning. With hooks cast Nets and Dead Fish all over the beach from their scraps and what they leave behind. I went out there this morning and was disgusted. Not saying it's all the fishermen because clearly it is not. But maybe move down the beach some and not right at the entrance where are dogs are instantly attracted to the lures and hooks that are coming in and out of the water. Also to the gentleman that had the cast net this morning and dump The Unwanted fish right there on the beach leaving them there. Never seen such disrespectfulness to...
