Fantastic park!! Went there to watch this year's Perseids Meteor shower. It started at 3am and the park had someone with a flashlight to help you get from your car to the path that takes you to the dark viewing area. They had very thoughtfully put glow sticks down along the path to keep me from tumbling off the path into the foliage where my flailing and screaming would have surly alarmed the wildlife for miles around. They had arraigned for an amateur astronomer to bring their telescope to look at interesting bits of our vast Universe. Unfortunately and despite the park's best efforts to make this a wonderful event, Mother Nature wasn't going to play along and kept tossing banks of clouds along every 15 minutes and pretty much ruined the night. I was there an hour and a half and did manage to see 13 meteorites falling through our atmosphere and burning to a crisp. I missed quite a few by having my cranium facing the wrong way. I could tell when I missed a really bright one because everyone would say "Wow!" or "Whoooah!" as it...
Read moreWhat an amazing place! It's in a beautiful country setting. There is a regular playground, and a very unique playground as well for the older kids. There are ropes and things to climb and a zip line that they thought was amazing. We did not get to the trails but there is a natural play area at the beginning of one of the trails by the playground. It had teepee-like structures made out of logs and a large area for the kids to play back in the woods then. There was also a small area for adults with trapeze type bars for pull-ups and similar exercise moves. There is a dog park play area. And also a very nice size obstacle course. It suggests it is made for children 12 and older but younger kids can do it with adult supervision. We did not get any further than those things because of time but we will definitely come back to this park anytime we are in...
Read moreI am new to Ohio and loved my first two visits. The park is beautiful and has wonderful trails. The large fenced in dog park is incredible, with a wooded area and agility course. I only have one complaint and that is for the multi use trails. Not just Glacier Ridge but other parks I have visited in Columbus. Visitors riding bikes come up behind you, very fast sometimes, and give no courtesy warning they are approaching/passing. This is the first place I have lived where bicyclists don't give a courtesy warning. Please don't get me wrong, I have no problem with people riding bikes on the trails. I just kindly ask that they remember that the trails are "Multi-Use" trails and to please consider walkers, that may not even realize you are behind them, and give a courtesy warning. It's just common courtesy and shows respect for ALL visitors...
