Hike off the bluff of the Snake River, this place has fascinating historical and geological features. You can see as you hike on the trail where the Oregon Trail meets the Snake River. It is also a great Paleozoic fossil discovery of an ancient horse species named the Hagerman Horse along with hundreds of fossil plant and animal species, some extinct and some ancestors of today's animals. The hike was a great workout with mostly flat with a uphill climb towards the end. In total there and back is 6 miles, only 3 if you can shuttle a ride to the Oregon Trail overlook parking at the top. During our visit, mid-day, it was still interesting and a unique little view of an inlet along the Snake River that you don't usually see. There is limited parking so if it is full for some reason you can drive on to the Oregon Trail Overlook.
