This site is designed to be ADA accessible with a switchback trail but isn't really due to rain runoff and soil erosion. I enjoyed it anyway. The walk to the gravesite is very short but pleasant, and there's a placard with some information about the governor. Pretty interesting guy. During the colder months when the leaves are down, there would be spectacular views of the Mississippi River. This was worth going out of my way to visit. Too bad there aren't any trails in the immediate area.

Very quite and peaceful grave site of Governor Dunklin and his family. There is handicap parking and a nice walk way that winds down the hill to the site. There are two stone benches to rest at and take in the scenery. Next to the grave site is a spectacular view of the Mississippi River and the state of Illinois. Sometimes you can catch a barge going up the river which is neat to see.

This is a nice small historic cemetery. The information board is very weathered and due for replacement. It is very much up against someone's private home residence you kind of walk into there back yard.

This state historic site is nestled in a neighborhood, at the end of a dead end street, and overlooks the Mighty Mississippi. It's as tranquil as it is beautiful, and visitors have a choice between using the stairs, or the ramp, to make their way, a short distance down the hill to get to the site, which pays homage to Missouri's fifth Governor. Really...
