DISCLAIMER 1 - I've recently read a fair amount about the booming wine industry down in Fredericksburg...and I simply didn't believe it. I fully expected poorly developed, highly sweetened wine "blends." DISCLAIMER 2 - I would never claim to have a highly developed and well-trained wine palette. I really enjoy wine (beer too), and I've learned over the years I love a $15 bottle of wine as much as a $55 bottle. For the record, I predominantly drink reds...big, bold reds. THE FEEDBACK - Our VRBO just happened to be 1 block away from the Lost Draw tasting room when we blindly walked in (again, going in with fantastically low expectations). Exactly one minute after entering, our host at Lost Draw (Roxey) proceeded to make me eat my low expectations of Texas wines. Every wine my wife and I tasted there was delicious. Roxey was OUTSTANDING in her friendliness, customer service and attention to detail. When our visit at Lost Draw was done (and on Roxey's recommendation), we drove out the next day to visit William Chris Vineyards. Another AMAZING winery with a GORGEOUS tasting room and insanely delicious wines. If you find yourself in Fredericksburg, head over to Lost Draw Cellars and see what the Rox has cooking! You will not be disappointed. Easy...

We were member here for a few years. We really enjoyed the tasting room in Fredericksburg and the wines and joined the club. However, it feels like the quality has decreased over the last few shipments. I was very excited about the Rose shipment at the beginning of summer, but to me half the box was so bad they were undrinkabke…. And I’m a rose lover!! The last few shipments over all have been not as great as in the past. I tried to cancel before the last box was sent and was denied due to timing (did not give 30days notice). I asked if we could return the wines that we won’t drink, because there has been a lot and did not get a response back. This last shipment, the wires were terrible along with about half the reds again. The Malbec was the worst and the most disappointing since it’s usually one of our favorite grapes. We have recommended this winery quite a bit over the last years but cannot anymore. I do wonder if part of the qualities is that they ship through the summer heat, most of our other wine clubs will not, but not sure and won’t go back again. I was also very disappointed that they did not respond to the quality issues or offer return or replacement after over 2 years of...

While it broke my heart to see Lost Draw leave it's original location, I have to stick with my "family". Drove out to the new Johnson City location yesterday for a pick up party. The music was great. The new wines, delicious. We really enjoyed the food pairings but our favorite by far was the superb pork belly. All the good was catered by Chef Mike Maples of Local Eats Craft Food. I was so happy to see Troy and Carleyne, Bernie, Roxie, the twins. It was like ",old home week". Got lots of hugs. We missed our sweet David and posted him and his friendly ways. I had missed all the fall events due to illness. I was so happy to enjoy yet another Lost Draw party. The crawfish boil is next! Yahoo!

My first LD post years ago: Lost Draw staff and owners are like another family. They smile, greet everyone and are so hospitable. They are always generous as well, allowing members to bring friends to pick up parties. No matter when I show up,they are always welcoming. But a BIG bonus ....the WINE. All the Lost Draw wines are delicious. I have many bottles of Lost Draw wine in my cellar. When I open one for friends, smiles all around!!! In summary, love these people...

Hi, this is Phil. I was a guest of Anna’s at the latest big group meetup. We enjoyed plenty of different wines and all of the employees were very kind. We finally met the famous Shawn (ask about the duck photo). Everyone was super friendly and treated us with care. The wine was super duper and scrumptious. Food and band was awesome. Shout out Shawn! He’s the best. I’m the best. Not sure. Either way. Staff is great. Try the wine. Live. Laugh. Shawn. P.S. that duck photo better be in the office. P.S.S. Thanks for having us! So anyway, here’s a brief history of Hawaii: “Hawai‘i was originally settled by Polynesians around 1,500 years ago, who developed a rich culture and society across the islands. In 1778, British explorer Captain James Cook became the first European to arrive, marking the beginning of increased Western influence. The islands were unified under King Kamehameha I in 1810, forming the Kingdom of Hawai‘i. After decades of political and economic pressure from American interests, Hawai‘i was overthrown in 1893, annexed by the U.S. in 1898, and became the 50th state in 1959.” Best, Again, Phil

I booked this for my birthday, a large group tasting for 6. It was to include a "large" cheeseboard that fed "6-8 people. We even asked the server if it was a large or if there was a mistake. He confirmed it was their large. Luckily we had one person back out so there were only 5 of us, so we got 2-3 bites each. Anyone that loves a good cheeseboard knows people want more than a couple bites!! How was this a large board? Photo 1 is their alleged large board. The next photo is of a board that was for TWO PEOPLE at Slate Theory - beyond impressed with that one!! The other is just an insult. ...Especially after I told my friends I had a surprise for them (for my birthday lol) and that is what came out. I would never return after this 💔

Among the splendor of the wine trail between Austin and Fredericksburg there are some absolute gems that outshine most. The wine is one thing above most but Roxie and the Lost Draw crew led by Andrew and the entire William Chris Wine Company are year after year fantastic. With a group of lifelong Framily members re-united from Louisiana and Dallas area - the elevated tasting on their new property in Johnson City was amazing. Exploring some beautiful wines from past while guided by the entertaining and exceptionally knowledgeable Roxie was a highlight of our weekend of 7 different wineries. Thank you Roxie and all of the Lost Draw crew. See ya again soon
