Ali is absolutely the best! This is our second time coming to Joshua Tree as the kids wanted to do rock climbing. Last Christmas, the kids did their first outdoor rock climbing with Ali and they loved it so much and wanted to come back again this Christmas. I reached out Ali before we went there and to my surprise, he still remembered us! Ha!
According to our kids' request, Ali customized the course for them which includes intro to Trad and anchor building. The kids spent two days in a row learning and climbing with Ali. Ali taught them lots of new skills. The kids really loved it that Ali chose the climbs that are just at the right level for them. My son did his first lead climbing outdoor and my daughter did her first 5.10 outdoor! On the second day, they learned how to clean the anchor and rappelling. The kids were very happy and absolutely proud of themselves. They can't wait to come back again to learn more with Ali!
Something worth noting is that, after the first day of climbing, we went to Nomad Ventures and bought some ropes so that the kids could practice the new skills that Ali taught them. Apparently, the folks at Nomad Ventures knew Ali and called him "rad", ha!

This past weekend, my family and I went to Joshua Tree and decided to do a rock climbing experience. Our rock climbing expert, Ali create such an amazing, memorable adventure. Ali was not only patient and kind, but very interactive and knowledgeable. Prior to starting the rock climbing, he took the time to explain all the safety tips and even shared some interesting information about the trees located in Joshua Tree National Park.
What impressed me the most was the way Ali interacted with my three boys, ages 8, 7, and 5. He was so patient with them and made sure they felt comfortable before we even started climbing. During the climbing he was encouraging and continued to guide my son’s through their timidity, which gave them the boost of confidence needed to complete the climb. This encouragement made their experience much more enjoyable.
After we finished our rock climbing, Ali guided us into a cave to explore and hike. It was an incredible experience and we all had a blast!
