Ridenour Overlook — Attraction in Juniata Township

We've been here in the summer and fall before, and have loved the views. Unfortunately, when we tried to return for winter shots, the area was gated off. It was disappointing because we live a few hours away and made the drive since Google said they kept it open....not sure why it was closed when we went, but was definitely a bummer. We had intended to do an all 4 seasons themed photo set from Hawns. We were able to access the dam overlook with the pagoda, though. Also, if you're planning on using Google maps to navigate the area, be cautious....the navigation told us there were multiple access points to get up the mountian, but all of the "roads" were clearly posted private property and...

A very beautiful view awaits those who walk the easy trail from the parking lot to the terraced overlook. The body of water extends in front of the visitor at approx 150 degrees field of view (not quite from full left to right across the horizon) because of the large trees blocking your view at the edges.
