Pat Merritt Dog Park is one of the Inland Empire’s best-kept secrets for dog lovers. Yes, it’s been around since 2002 and it shows a little age like a classic Harley — a few scuffs, but still running strong. There are plenty of waste stations, and every visit we've made, bags have been fully stocked (major points there).
The crowd? Usually light — either it’s a private off-leash paradise or you’ll see a handful of friendly pups. We haven’t run into any aggressive dogs or grumpy owners, which is rare these days.
Minor gripe: some folks treat it like a drop-off daycare without supervision. A few random landmines and disengaged owners remind you that common courtesy isn’t as universal as you’d hope.
Pro tip: the park closes half an hour after sunset, which is why the lights are off. It’s clearly posted, so if you’re leaving reviews about it — might be time to brush up on your reading skills.
Overall, it’s a well-loved, well-maintained little gem with a few quirks. Highly recommend if you want a laid-back spot for your dog to zoom...
Read moreThis is a great small to medium size dog park. It is completely gated and has 2 sides that's are separately gated. One side for small to medium sized dogs and the other side for large dogs. Each entrance and exit have 2 doors to ensure no runaways. The 2 doors also allow your dogs to get used to any other dogs inside the park with a steel gate in between before letting them enter the full park. The park is mostly flat with nice grassy areas and small dirt patches. Plenty of space for any dog to get energy out or just meet and play with new friends. There are trees to provide shade for you and your dogs along with concrete tables and benches for you to sit down. There are water fountains for humans to drink from but also a water spout to fill up any water bowls or small plastic pools. The park does have small trashcans and plastic bags for any poo your dogs may lay. Overall it is a nice dog park, with friendly people and...
Read moreThis is such a great park for all kinds of dogs!! All areas of the grass are so well maintained and ready to be walked in. There’s hardly any poo laying around because everyone picks up after their dogs! Each bench has a big bowl of water at the end for the dogs to drink from which are pretty clean too!! I would highly recommend brining a small lawn chair or blanket to lay on the grass shade that the trees provide because most sun hits the benches. People are so friendly and the environment is so calming. Personally my dog isn’t a very playful one, but he still loved the interact with the other dogs and lay around with the cool breeze. Check this park out and bring some...
