As far as "walks" go, this is a pretty good one as the path is either paved, covered, or a the very least smooth and well-trodden. If you're more into hiking, this one leaves a lot to be desired. The views along the trail are decent, but there are better views found elsewhere (and without the presence of man-made stairs and platforms in your field of vision). Good for a little stroll with the family, for young kids and for people who maybe aren't at peak fitness levels, but if hiking and/or great views are your thing, this trail is...

This is my favorite little trail in Badlands National Park, however I work here, so I might be a bit prejudiced. It is a half mile long, and is part boardwalk and part regular trail, but it does climb to a high point and gives you a good view of the lower prairie, and it also goes through a small copse of woods, which is a bit unusual in badlands. It is somewhat passable even when wet, which is different than most of the trails. A nice trail that isn't too long for those of us who aren't...

Awesome trail, even some greenery with the junipers. Very nice overlook with views to the southern part of the park. I went during the week in September; I can see the small parking area being overcrowded and inaccessible on a weekend or during the summer unless you get there very early.

Even on an 85 degree day, the boardwalk (not wood, likely recycled plastics) was a bit slick, so expect that during periods of frost/snow as well.

This has become a must stop on my future visits...
