As far as "walks" go, this is a pretty good one as the path is either paved, covered, or a the very least smooth and well-trodden. If you're more into hiking, this one leaves a lot to be desired. The views along the trail are decent, but there are better views found elsewhere (and without the presence of man-made stairs and platforms in your field of vision). It is a half mile long, and is part boardwalk and part regular trail, but it does climb to a high point and gives you a good view of the lower prairie, and it also goes through a small copse of woods, which is a bit unusual in badlands. I went during the week in September; I can see the small parking area being overcrowded and inaccessible on a weekend or during the summer unless you get there very early.
Even on an 85 degree day, the boardwalk (not wood, likely recycled plastics) was a bit slick, so expect that during periods of frost/snow as well.
