Awesome park with many areas worth exploring. Always see something cool like random muskrats or cardinals (male and female) ... many of them which makes it fun to copy their calls & find yourself being examined by a male wondering who’s in their territory lol other cool things like fish, snapping turtles (maybe swimming near the overhang) or if you’re lucky...a baby one may be spotted by the water tower side in the shallow sandy water. So many places to find and see there it’s awesome. Great place to walk your dog and definitely worth bringing kids as there are two playgrounds plenty of running area and tennis court as well as ultimate frisbee course which has definitely gained popularity in covid times. Some advice though; don’t go alone (unless you don’t feel threatened by an occasional drunk or random homeless) I’ve never been actually approached but have heard stories and once saw a guy with a mean looking dog hitting on two girls and then realized he was also recording them laying on a blanket on the grass trying to relax. Was disgusted and had my dog so said something about it but other than that I’ve heard there’s “no bottom” so not to ever swim in it lol idk how true but it’s sure folktale. I’ve waded in shallow clear part at a point in time but wouldn’t consider it any good for swimming considering the snappers and likely muck filling it. Smells pretty gross at the bottom before the stream in the woods and I heard it was sewer water so there are so good myths maybe truths but personally always found it to be a diamond in the rough for kzoo and the east side. Always a good shortcut at night but locks at sunset for cars. If u get trapped good luck getting out lol. I saw it done once but that’s a story not a review lol. Check it out...

I have been coming to this park for 12 years now, and I have always found myself having a good time, enjoying the scenery and living it up. Has a circular drive for easy access to its many internal locations. It surrounds a body of water and has a river running through it. There is an open field for sports, 2 full play grounds and a separate swing set area. There is a Pavillion with seating and grills for gatherings, along side one of the playgrounds. Spring valley has water scenery, wooded scenery and open scenery. It is great for short walks and nature viewing. As a kid I absolutely love skateboarding and biking down its 2 massive paved hills (Please be careful).
These are all of the things that I loved about the park as a child, now however I have an entirely new reason to visit Spring valley regularly.
Disc golf. My favorite hobby and sport. Within the last 3 or 4 years a disc golf course was installed at Spring valley, it was always a fun and exciting course to play with just 18 holes and no tee pads. This year it had a makeover, the course has been extended to be 24 holes long, and cement tee pads have also been installed. And everything I mentioned about scenery comes into play in the disc golf course as well. Huge elevation, open field shots, and extremely technical wooded areas as well. I mean I am just floored at the awesomeness of the course out there.

Read moreFirst time visiting this park. We went to try the disc golf course. We played the longs. The course had a fairly interesting mix of shots. The course does lack signage (Hint Hole one is near the southside of the bridge). Some signs showing where to go for the next tee, especially for #10, would be very helpful. For hole 10 you have to cross the bridge and walk a fair ways. Signage at each tee would be nice too. Most of the time, we were able to spot the basket or make a fairly good guess of where we needed to throw. I would play this course again. I WOULD recommend googling a course map to help find your way. I did use the restroom while at the park. The one I tried (I'm not sure if there are more restroom buildings), all of the stall locks were not functional. The inside looked a little older, but it was clean. All of the playgrounds we saw at the park...
