This is a national forest in the western part of the U.S. state of Montana. The forest covers 2,404,935 acres (3,758 sq mi;) It is named after the Flathead Native Americans who lived in the area. The forest is located in the Rocky Mountains with elevations ranging from 4,500 to 8,500 feet (1,400 to 2,600 m). The forest provides habitat for approximately 250 species of wildlife and 22 species of fish. This includes many types of fishes. Those are collected from Wikipedia. But one question, if anyone see this please answer me are there any cruel animal here or not. This is a national forest in the western part of the U.S. state of Montana. The trees are all bending In one direction Because of something Is a beautiful thing. Oh when the sun goes down, The fireflies come out. Pity the mate of Queen Mantis, So content, but so headless. Katy did nothing but shiver and cry, As did the dragonfly. In the shade the gypsies spin Among the cloves, they drop their skin. beyond the hedge grove, Over by the willows, Deep in the shadows Regeneration occurs at a furious speed Beneath the white oak tree. And when the sun comes up Moon buds fold up. In the sun she warmed her wings ain't ever seen it, but I have heard it. Sounds like the millstones when they are turning, But every moment getting louder and louder, And then there is silence, And the...

The Flathead National Forest is really a vague and vast amount of land owned by the federal government and managed by federal employees. There are still great chunks of land that are managed well that are beautiful and provide ample opportunities for outdoor activities to be enjoyed by all. unfortunately in more recent days this has led to a number of road closures and blockages that prevent the public use of lands that were originally meant for the people. I'm not sure how the government of the United States became something other than "of the People by the people and for the people" but it's clear that many situations such as these indicate that the government is something other than "for...

This is one of my favorite all seasons playgrounds. On this particular visit it was the setting of a winter adventure. It was a perfect day to be out on the snow cat on trails in the back country. Surrounded by tall pines and towering cliff it is Montana at its finest. We finished the rides with a trip to Tally Lake, an amazing gem in the western part of the forest. Tally Lake has the distinction of being the deepest lake in Montana registering at about 500 feet. Of the many other activities available throughout the year~ hiking, boating camping and swimming are just to name a few.

We climbed Great Northern Mountain. This is a challenging hike with a bit of scrambling, and not for beginners. But for those with the strength and skills to do it (over 5000' of elevation gain in 4 miles one-way, and a couple of class 3 moves with some exposure) it's a truly delightful day. Just don't leave any of your gear unattended. The mountain goats will be on it in a moment. Also, you want good weather, both for safety and the views. My photo is of the actual top of Great Northern, from the ridge we approached on.

We loved our time camping here in Montana. The park was beautiful and there was plenty available camping locations. It was early in the season when we went but there are plenty of both reserved and first come first serve sites. Depending on the campground you stay at, some have potable water. We stayed where there was. Bears are in the National Forest so be sure to pack your bear spray if you’re going for a hike.
