To start with the obvious, the views are pretty awesome no matter the time of day. And secondly, it's a very easy hike considering you can drive to, basically, the top and park. If one chose, you could park at the bottom and hike all the way to the top. This isn't too strenuous of a hike either, but this being Google maps and all, it could get difficult for the hard to move around crowd. At the top, whether you've chosen to drive or hike up, is a visitor center. It has all the usual, wheelchair parking, restrooms, and other facilities. I do believe it's available for rent, or reservations of some sort, since my mother and brother were wed there. (NO, NOT TO EACH OTHER, C'MON FOLKS!) You'd have to check with them for sure. I'm any event, it's worth the trip if you find yourself looking for something too do that's close to the Kalispell area, and don't wanna spend any cash. 👍

We enjoy this park SO MUCH! They offer several kids/adult education classes (most free!) To learn about the outdoors and the wildlife in the park. The visitor facility is always tidy and a great stop to check out for locals and travelers! The only "downfall" was one of the classes we joined in on was a new ranger from out of state was teaching about local vegetation and edible resources you can find in our forests. However- the reason I mention she was not local is I found most questions we had she either Googled or did not know. I don't know how their program training works but she may have felt more confident with training prior to leading the group. Otherwise all the classes we have attended have been wonderful !

Very Close to Kalispell, Easy Access Trails and a Small Education Center. The access road is easy to navigate. Parking is out front of the Education Center. Inside is a small but quaint store with local huckleberry foods and cute toys for sale. There is a small education center where you can walk around and see animals and interactive exhibits. There is a classroom where they hold instructional programs. There is a wonderful nearly panoramic view of Kalispell from the main trail. From here you can continue on down the hill to other walking trails or walk back to your car.

This state park is located next to Kalispell. It is located on a hill next to the valley. It offers some great view of the valley. If you enter the park from the north entrance, you will drive to the top. There is a visitor center located there along with rest rooms. This part of the park has picnic areas along with a spot for volleyball. From the visitor center, you cross the bridge over the ravine and it is a short walk to viewing area.

There are two other entrances to the park that are below the hill. One has a nice gate a wide path that will take you up to the viewing area and visitor center. This is though is located near a residential area and there is limited parking. The second entrance below the hill has better parking. The trails are a little steeper, but all will eventually loop you to the visitor center and overlook area.

The state park has some nice trails, but realize that is surrounded by a residential area. A nice park for picnics and...

I was born and raised in Montana. My dog and I adventure all the time. We have NEVER had to leash for State land... we got yelled at twice and the leash they gave us wasn't even 2 feet long. It was WAY to short to leash a dog for the steep hikes. It also CHOKED her. Absolutely ridiculous. Dogs should be able to be off leash on State land, especially those voice command and trail trained. I thought Montanan was dog friendly... in Oregon is leash OR voice trained. Dogs don't get any exercise on leash. They should be able to have fun, run, and play. I've been to State parks around the state and never had issues.. The guy mentioned they patrol it because people complained. It's ridiculous we are bowing to the complainers. There are very few areas where a dog can run and be free and State land should be...
