The park is very clean. We were there for our church family in the park day. It was hot but, the park has large pinic gazebos to shelter from the sun and rain. I dont suggest the elderly or the disabled, spending too much time, out in the high tempatures we had to endure, on this day. The people maintaining the cleaniness of the park, drove over to us, close to our end time. We were cleaning up but, the park's crew told us not to worring about hauling the trash bags to the dumpster, they take care of that part. There is a basket ball court, playground, rest rooms and a small walking bridge. It's felt nice and peaceful. Warning: Walking across the bridge felt a little creepy because the trees and full and hoovers as shelter over the bridge. I was prayed us and covered by the blood, that no weapons of snakes and spider bites, could fall on top of me, thus enanling venomous pision to form agaist me! Go see for yourselves. It is very a well organinzed...
Read moreThe turtle sanctuary pond is my main attraction here, but the park in general is very nice. It's set up a bit different than other parks in the area, which is a good thing. On occasion there are large ducks that are tame enough to pick up, though you shouldn't chase them and shouldn't handle them if you have no idea what you're doing. Excellent place for either photography of the wildlife or human subjects as well. It's a hidden gem. Note: PLEASE do not bring a very bark-happy dog or let your dog chase the birds. The animals here are so friendly because they have good, peaceful experiences with humans. Let's...
Read moreGreat park. So many things to do and see. I loved the Vietnam Memorial. It was so nice that you personalized the large marble stone with all the residents in the area who passed too soon fighting a battle that wasn't recognized for a long time. I am from Michigan but my sister lives here in Kannapolis. They know I love to walk so they took me there. Now I know that every time I come down to visit my sister I will have a place to walk and remember those who served. I also love the fact that you have signs identifying some of the trees, and especially the poison ivy placard. I took a picture so I can show it to my daughters because we are deathly allergic and don't know what poison ivy looks...
