Cheney Reservoir — Attraction in Kansas

We always have a blast every time we come, and we come quite often. It's no ocean definitely. But the grounds are clean and well-maintained the restrooms are nice. Campos are doing a really good job of keeping up with the trash and making sure everybody is responsible for their own. That's why my family and I always choose to come back to Cheney every time. Whether you want to stay for the day or come out here with your camper hook up to electricity and stay a week it's a great place with a lot of fun activities to do. Fishing boats skiing jet skiing walking the beach making a sandcastle grilling out with family you'll never go wrong they have several docs of all sizes big and small as well as Pavilions that you can get up underneath with lots of picnic tables for resting in between trips back and forth to the water. No warnings or postings of any kind making people aware that certain "roads" are NOT maintained and the risk of traveling them. My son was stuck in a spot for close to 20hrs before my husband was able to get his truck out. Because the road was NOT posted with any signs to note caution and the fact that individuals with atv buggys go through and (what I witnessed as being purposeful) tear the roadway up even more (for their amusement, with no regard to others), my son's first Family Fishing Trip was a disaster. My 6mo old grandson had to be "rescued" by his other grandparents, we had to force my pregnant daughter in law to come with us after she had been in the truck for almost 10hrs (needing to use a restroom), and my son stayed with his truck till it was recovered and hopefully doesn't become...

It's a peaceful place but they nickle and dime you for everything you have to one pay for your spot wich is expected but then they also charge you for a tent or rv your camping in even though you've already paid for the spot and if you have and rv not only do they charge you for the spot and the rv but they add an additional daily vehicle cost because your rv is also a car even though you've paid for your spot and paid to put your rv there it's complete overkill on fees the best part when you call and ask how much they don't tell you about the other fees on the phone this...
