We've passed this place several times before and finally had a chance to visit in the last few days. The most impressive thing that stood out was the quality and condition of the exhibits. All of them were in working order and while they were well used, the didn't look in a state of extreme disrepair. The staff was courteous and the information was very thorough. We were on a road trip so we didn't have time to explore the walking trails but it will be a future destination for us. Whether you're passing through or making a direct trip here, it's well worth the time and money! It was a very neat experience to be visiting a wildlife refuge that is only one of 24 sites in the United States to be recognized on the international scale.

We went to the Butterfly Festival. It is in September every year and has great activities and is a fun experience. I think that the Kansas Wetlands Education Center does a great job providing engaging educational experiences about nature for kids. I say that as an aunt and as a teacher. They do a great job!

Very nice visitors center. Great displays, nice gift shop ,with the best selection of bird and nature guide books of any place I can think of. Staff very friendly. Good viewing windows with binoculars and a good spotting scope. I'm adding a couple of pictures from out on the wildlife drive.

The education center has excellent exhibits on the history of the area and the wetlands, as well as a few native animals on display. The employees are very knowledgeable and helpful and made our experience more fun! The outlook pavilion provides a really nice overview and the nature trail is a nice little walk. We saw some frogs and snakes and the kids had...

Perfect roadtrip pit stop although you could spend the whole day exploring the surrounding Cheyenne Bottoms! Free to enter but recommend donating what you can to support their great work! The self paced educational area includes fun interactive exhibits and 10-15 live animals. They also have a large gift shop with super...
