This park in De Soto, KS is great. I came here for the trails. I did the Rose Loop (1.9 Miles) and the Indigo Loop (2.7 Miles). In total there is 4 main trails that are located in the wooded section to the north of the lake and there is also a paved walking trail that encircles the lake itself. The rose loop was short and sweet, very easy and anybody could do it. My favorite was the indigo loop because it was a bit more distance and around the ‘G’ trail marker about halfway through the loop you can find some old ruins of buildings and even a really cool old windmill. This area must have been the site of an old homestead or farm, not sure. Would be great if they put together an information sign in this area. They did a great job with creating the trails and on each trail you can find trail markers and maps letting you know where you are, how much you’ve completed and the mileage of each trail. It makes it really easy to plan your hike and maintain confidence in knowing your exact location. This park is great if you want to enjoy the lake, have a picnic or go hiking, biking etc. The park is conveniently located close to K10 Highway so accessing it from the greater Kansas City area is easy. The first time I came here the 4 traditional trails were closed so make sure to call ahead after any precipitation to find out if the trails are opened or closed. I included a photo of the sign with their number on it for reference down below.

This is a beautiful park with a paved 1.25 mile (according to my Fitbit) walking/ bike path around the lake. There is also a jungle gym for kids and there is a kayak launch available and kayaks to rent. In general, the park is well kept although the garbage can on the paved walking/bike path doesn't get emptied near enough and usually smells and the path has several large cracks in it that need filling.

Rode these trails for the first time today. Had an awesome time! Nice trails, and nicely made. Lots of different changes. Cool old foundations, barns and an old bridge. Nice park. I think there is an air pump and place to time the bike. Nice bathrooms too. I like the thought put in the whole area and the attention to mountain bikes. Reminded me of Bentonville area.

Great fishing, The Most beautiful largies I've ever seen. When the bite is on, you can smash the fish. Have ridden both rose loop and emerald trail. Even unfinished the emerald is fun. It starts with a slight downhill flow that really gets you pumped, but once you get past the trail connector, good luck, loose gravel and a high grade on the near cliffside to your right, the consecutive tech hills are bu far the most challenging feature I personally have ridden. The rose loop is a good...

A very nice park/lake.....well done like most of the JOCO lakes, it's well manicured and has beautiful pathways and facilities. Slightly disappointed with the playground, which would be fine for older kids. But as a mostly rope based area, it's definitely not for younger children. Also, the top of the "bridge" on the playground has quite a drop, again, be watchful of younger (read: 6 years old or...
