Milford State Park is beautifully maintained! We had a friend camping trip; 3 families brought their campers and singles/couples stayed in the tree cabins along the lake edge. The cove separated us from the campers which was a quick 5 minute drive or swim across the cove. The water was about 3" higher than normal, so most of the beach was under water.
My husband, our dog, and I stayed in the pet friendly cabin. It has bunk beds and pull out full-sized futon. The mattresses on the bunk bed were thick and comfortable. We used the top bunk for our suitcases etc. The cabin is compact. The first night, we used a queen sized air mattress on the floor. The rest of the stay, we slept separately..hubs on the lower bunk and I took the futon (left it as a couch.)
The kitchen was well stocked with cooking utensils, pots & pans with lids, 3 mugs, 3 plastic tumblers, setting for 4 with dishes. Under counter refrigerator had a top freezer that worked great. Dishes soap, new sponge, paper towels, TP, & extra trash bags...
ย ย ย Read moreWe love the Equestrian Camping at this park and the trails. We also enjoy water sports and fishing here.
We would give 5his park a 5 star rating and would actually visit more often, however, as Equestrians, we just aren't able to get a spot at the Equine camp spots. This particular area doesn't have a lot of horse camping spots to begin with.

It seems to be have been taken over by huge RVs. This camp has the needed amenities for these beasts. It is also a beautiful spot with beautiful views, which is probably another reason people want to camp there.
So, we have given up trying to go and horse camp there, which is sad and unfortunate. ๐ฅ
At Melvern Lake (Eisenhower State Park), they actually show some of their equine sites, online, as taken, however, if you call their office, you can have one of those "reserved" spots. I wish this is something Milford Lake would...
ย ย ย Read moreWe've been here several times for many events and camping, stationed here for years. In May we stayed in the Eagle loop (50 amp and super quiet) for a few days while visiting family friends. So it was a no brainer to do the same this last two weeks. Holy moly what a mistake! The camphost is awful and I'm being nice. No one cleaned out the fire pit from previous camper or before that, her Border Collie mix dog charges at everything that walks by her site, her other dogs roam the campground without a leash, she apologized one time for her dog's behavior. She didn't ask us once in two weeks if we needed anything (not a big deal, but still). The majority of the time we were the only people besides her "buddies" who looked like they had been there for months. Overall, the camphost did absolutely nothing a host should do and we are very disappointed in the park service for...
