a lot of clips of me walking away from the camera as I make my way to Kalalau Beach. 😂 🏝 But actually, this was a 24 mile round trip hike along the Na Pali Coast in Kauai. It was easily the most challenging I’ve done as the entire trek was up down up down over the ridges... every time we felt like we gained elevation, the next section would bring us right back down. We were also backpacking across loose, jagged terrain and through scattered rain storms resulting in incredibly slippery, deep mud (I fell multiple times haha). You can kinda see how sore I was bumbling around in the one sunset clip 😂. Even though I felt like the hike would never end, when we finally arrived to Kalalau Beach, I was speechless. This destination was beyond beautiful with a quiet stretch of beach surrounded by the sharp formations of the mountains, rivers and waterfalls making their way to the ocean and insane weather conditions as the sky rotated between rainstorms, sunshine and vivid rainbows. We were able to spend two nights camping in and exploring this paradise. I am so proud of myself for working through the pain so that I could enjoy this wonder 🥰 🌈 🥾 . . . . #hawaii #hiking #beautifuldestinations #hellofrom #island #paradise #tlpicks #backpacking #kauai #napalicoast #discoverearth #bestplacestogo

One of the nicest, beautiful and noisiest beach. It's so popular and in the middle of beautiful valleys with an tourist helicopter every few minutes or several of them waiting for their turn to get in and out the valley/Waterfalls. Early mornings and evenings are quietest possible and pleasant to stay and spend time after a long as trek in. Toilets are clean and comfortable. But no toilet paper while I stayed for two nights. I think the rangers are not doing their job. Trail is least maintained and cleared. May be the reason is the duty rangers fly in and out of the campsite. Be aware of the mountain goats and rocket fast rock falls. Don't keep any food outside or tents secured. Goats come around during the day and grabs everything they find.

After a strenuous 18 km hike, you end up at one of the most beautiful beaches!

While the hike takes you up and down with about 1000 m of elevation, you walk through nice forests, dirt trails, and rock formations! You should be sure-footed to pass over several streams and not afraid of heights to walk along Craler's Ledge. With a backpack full of food and camping gear, some breaks to enjoy the view and rest, plan at least 8 h for the hike.

And once you reach the destination you find a beautiful beach. While the ocean is often too rough to go in, the sunsets are amazing. There is a stream to get fresh water.

If you have two (or more) days to spare, this is one of the most amazing things to do on...

After a beautiful, dangerous hike, I did not expect to see so many people boating-in illegally or being dropped off. Also, a ton of people kayaking in and staying at this beach. It really kills the vibe, this should be a natural, secluded place that requires a journey to get to. Too many helicopters cruising through. Someone even anchored their catamaran over night, took their kids up on the beach. A tourist boat zoomed over a pod of dolphins.. Never saw a ranger, they could have made a year's salary in fines. This place is not being respected and Hawaii State Parks seem to be looking the other way because some people abusing this place have...
