Maniniholo Dry Cave is a fascinating natural attraction on Kauai’s north shore. This cave, located just across from Haena Beach Park, offers an intriguing glimpse into the island’s geological history and Hawaiian folklore.

The cave is easy to access, with a wide entrance that invites you to step inside and explore. The interior is spacious, with a high ceiling and cool, shaded environment—a welcome retreat from the sun. It’s a short walk to the back of the cave, where you can experience the calm and quiet atmosphere, making it a great spot for a quick stop during your travels.

Maniniholo Dry Cave is steeped in local legend, adding an element of mystery and cultural significance to your visit. According to Hawaiian lore, the cave is named after the chief fisherman Maniniholo, who, along with his men, is said to have dug the cave while chasing supernatural beings.

While it may not take long to explore, Maniniholo Dry Cave is worth a visit for its unique charm and the opportunity to connect with Kauai’s natural beauty and cultural stories. It’s an interesting stop that adds depth to your experience...

Yes, there totally is a very powerful and evil presence in the back left corner of the cave. Do not walk back in there. I made that mistake while trying to take a photo of my wife towards the middle of the cave. I wasn't attacked, but I felt like I was going to be if I didn't get out of that area of the cave right then and there. I "feel Things" daily, but this was one of the most intense "feelings" of a very malevolent very old very powerful presence standing right up against my back. My wife saw the smile on my face turn to dread and knew something was wrong. Side note, this is a gorgeous cave! I've posted the two pictures of where I was standing and taking a...

$235 parking citation. Do Not Park on the side of the road. They have one or two no parking signs far apart from each other so we parked behind other cars off the road and did not see a sign. Within 10 minutes of taking pictures and walking back to the car, all vehicles parked in front and behind us all had $235 parking violation tickets tucked under our wipers. Apparently with the limited parking available there, the Police hang around and write tickets every few minutes. Ruined our day but the cave was still pretty amazing. Shame on the city for not creating a decent sized parking area for people to enjoy the cave...

Nice little stop if you're passing through. The markings from water on the back look like a couple posing to me.
