A Scenic Delight in Monument Valley - 4 Stars

I recently visited John Ford Point in Monument Valley and was absolutely captivated by the stunning views of the surrounding landscape. The natural rock formations, painted in hues of red and orange, create a mesmerizing sight that truly showcases the beauty of the Southwest.

While the scenery is undoubtedly the main draw, the lack of amenities on site was a slight disappointment. Visitors should be aware that there are no restrooms or food options available, so it's important to come prepared.

That being said, the location itself is breathtaking and worth a visit. The opportunity to take in the panoramic views of Monument Valley is something that should not be missed.

One of the unique features of John Ford Point is the history behind its name. It was named after the famous director John Ford, who filmed many of his iconic western movies in this very location. Learning about the history of the area adds a special layer to the experience.

My suggestion for improvement would be to add some basic facilities such as restrooms and water stations. This would enhance the overall visitor experience.

Overall, I highly recommend visiting John Ford Point to take in the incredible views and soak up the history of the area. It left a lasting impression on me and I would definitely return for...

Awesome! Visiting Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park was truly one of the highlights of my travels. The landscape is absolutely breathtaking—those legendary red rock formations rise out of the earth like something out of a dream. It felt like walking into the heart of the American West, and every moment was unforgettable.

While John Ford’s Point is certainly iconic—and a must-see for the cinematic views—it wasn’t even the most striking spot within the park. There are several other locations along the scenic drive that offer even more powerful and majestic vistas, capturing the true essence of the wild West in a way that left me awestruck.

I also highly recommend stopping at the Navajo Visitor Center. Their gift shop is full of high-quality pieces—beautiful artwork, crafts, and trinkets that are perfect for displaying at home. I fell in love with several art pieces, but unfortunately, I hesitated because they seemed a bit too delicate to travel with by plane. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have thought twice about bringing one home.

All in all, Monument Valley is a place that leaves a deep impression—visually, emotionally,...

I am a Monument Valley resident. I love my home. I love what little privacy we have. Some people are very rude and have no respect for our home and theirselves. The old generation has a massive respect towards our home and our people, but the new generation has been very terrible. They over speak us when we try to tell them our lands still belong to us, but yet they have no idea or knowledge that our family has been here before our home begin to be known as a park. The tribe pays us nothing and we are mistreated from others that don't live in the park. Overall I love my home and I would stand next to my family as strong as ever living with no running water and no electricity and no we aren't ashamed of how we live we are survivors. And we will continue to survive...
