Another well maintained and enjoyable nature hike on Kelleys Island! The trail from the parking lot is a very nicely shaded trail that drops in elevation down to the water line. As you get closer to the lake, the trail becomes a very nice boardwalk allowing you to walk over the marshy area. There is a short extension that branches to the lake with a very nice sandy beach. The beach is part of the Kelley's Island State Park. Along the boardwalk is an observation deck providing a great view of the surrounding marsh. The trail is not very long and it would only take about 20 to 30 minutes if you simply walked it. Be prepared for the heat and the bugs! There is parking near the entrance. Also, many people use this parking lot and trail as an easy access to the beach! This side of the beach is harder to get to from the state park So this trail is an easy access without hiking through the park.

This is an amazing nature preserve. There is a large boardwalk that loops through the marsh. There is a wooden lookout tower. There is also a beach section along the lake. There is native vegetation. There are many different species of birds. There is no parking or restroom facilities.

We only went half way around. We went over the boardwalk and ended up on a beach with a bunch of boats anchored near the shore. Looks like a popular place. We had to turn back as a member of our group can't do sand. Plan on coming back and finishing the trail.

Short walking trail that leads through woods, then along a boardwalk over a marsh to the beach. There's a small observation tower that gives a nice view of the small pond. We saw turtles, but unfortunately no snakes. Parking for cars is just to the east on the opposite side of the road, and golf carts can probably just pull off right at the trail entrance. There was a bike rack...
