Rolling Acres Highland Farm LLC — Attraction in Kenova

TLDR: Not a child friendly venue, especially in hotter months. Staff rude and unprofessional.

I recently attended an event at this venue and was extremely disappointed. While the barn and property itself is beautiful, the lack of air conditioning made for an uncomfortable experience in the heat.

There is only one bathroom available in the bridal suite, which the owner insisted was exclusively for the bridal party, despite the sweltering conditions. Fine.

However, the bathroom accommodations for guests were porta potties, and not the kind that are in a trailer with air conditioning or proper sinks— regular porta potties that have been baking in the sun all day. For the fee of the venue, it is ridiculous to not have appropriate bathroom accommodations for guests who will be in dress attire.

At this wedding, we had ~8 babies under 3 and several older children under 7. Due to the extreme heat (and with permission from the bride) many of the parents and grandparents assisting with the small children rotated in and out as it was the only space with AC solely to to cool off the babies, feed, diaper change, avoid overstimulation etc. Things escalated when the owner padlocked the bridal suite bathroom, claiming it had been misused. I explained the situation and the number of families with babies needing access, but she refused to relent. Instead, she dismissed our concerns and ultimately communicated this to us in a very rude, accusatory tone.

Overall, this venue's lack of consideration for guest comfort and basic facilities overshadowed its beauty. I cannot recommend it....

I HIGHLY recommend purchasing cattle from Erica. We got a Highlander Cow off her a couple of days ago and he is thriving, he LOVES people and kids even though he has never been around kids. You would never believe it if I hadn’t told you. He would rather be with us than his other friends.
