This was the first temple I've participated in with it's sacred ordinances. It is very beautiful both on the inside and the outside and the feeling that seems to just dwell there is very special. Honestly, it's not my favorite temple, but I still had some very special experiences there that I won't forget. I've heard that there has been some confusion and even contention over why the temple ordinances are secret. Let me help y'all out. They are kept secret, because they are sacred and they are also a very special experience. I can imagine that many of you have something that you hold dear to your hearts and have kept them secret because those memories, gifts, people, etc... should not be taken or treated lightly and should only be shared with those who you hold dear to your hearts. As members and individuals we hold these sacred and special practices and experiences close to our hearts and can only share them with those who are worthy. Worthiness doesn't mean perfect or brainwashed. It means that we are doing our best to follow the Lord, Jesus Christ and his commandments and also that we have either learned and experienced the gospel and it's effect for ourselves or are trying to gain a witness of these things. One of my temple recommend interviews didn't go the way that I would've wanted it to. But, I answered each question honestly and wholeheartedly. I was no where close to being perfect nor having a perfect knowledge and I knew it and my bishop knew it. Despite all of these, he decided that I was worthy and gave me a recommend and I was able to go to the temple. Eventually, I did gain a witness through a great experience I had and I will remember it always. There is a quote from a great man, he said "I am not perfect, but I am perfect in trying". I feel that the same principle goes for being able to enter the temple. I feel that most would agree with me about keeping special things and people close to you. If you don't, I'm sorry you feel that way. For those who are curious or interested, find a member or a missionary or someone of the LDS Church who can explain these things further to you. Remember as Jesus has taught "Knock, and it shall be opened unto you. Ask, and ye shall receive." For those members who are struggling with doubts, or confusion, remember and pray and study the scriptures diligently always. In other words don't listen to those who make you fall away from the church. They are trying to make you doubt everything including your experiences. Your experiences which are greater than any amount of opinions there are out there. Remember your experiences, and if you have any doubts or confusions search for the answers diligently and prayerfully. Too many people have fallen away, because they have found something that didn't make sense and instead of searching and praying for the answers, they just stop at a completely misunderstood conclusion and they let that one small thing bother them until it drags them away. Remember to pray and study always, and you shall understand the gospel better and find the answers to your questions. To those who feel that they are not enough or not worthy because of worthiness issues, keep trying, don't give up and know that you are not alone and that the Lord your God loves you more than any thing and that in his eyes everyone who has and ever will live and who are alive, including each and every one of you, are priceless in his eyes. He knows you all, each and every one and he will always be with you. I know these things to be true. Not because I have been taught them or sung about these things; As a kid, I didn't care one bit for the church or much of any thing else. I know this because I have learned these things and gained witness of them myself. Keep trying. Don't give up. Know that you...

The Mormon Temple was always a sight to behold when driving on the Capital Beltway. Never thought I would be able to go in there, but in May, I did. I had a reserved parking space next to the temple. I was debating on whether I should postpone the visit or not because two people in my group could not make it at the last minute, and it was also predicted to rain that day. As the day of the visit got closer, I decided: just go.

The day started out sunny and bright and I thought we had dodge the rain. However, as I pulled into the parking lot, it started downpouring. Unfortunately I did not have an umbrella and we were going to get soaking wet, as it is a good few minutes walk from the parking lot to the temple itself. I told the parking attendant about the situation and he said he would get us a golf cart to carry us over there. That was nice of him. After parking someone in our group said their app indicated the rain would be stopping in five minutes. I thought to myself, can it really be that accurate? I saw a golf cart drive right past us in the pouring rain. Was that our golf cart? About five minutes later, it definitely rained much less, to my amazement, so we ran to the attendants on got on the golf cart. I wiped the seats down and we all barely just fit on it. It was raining heavily as the golf cart kind of sped of and zigged and zagged. It was an adventure and I hung out to the side bars tightly!

As we went deeper into the temple, it became bigger and bigger. There were volunteers throughout. We walked up, eventually, to the sixth floor. The stairs are part of the columns of the temple, and if you stick your head at the column's edge, you will see a whole strip of colored stones going up and down the whole shaft.

One of the best rooms was the room with many chandeliers. One big chandelier in the middle and multiple smaller ones one the edges. Pretty amazing.

The inside of the temple is mostly colored in beige-white color. Very minimalist with some furniture here and there decorating the place.

It was a pretty cool adventure visiting the temple. It is usually only for members only, but for a short time in 2022, it is open to visitors. I also went around the temple on the outside to visit the gardens.

Go if you are interested in seeing some amazing architecture, and go into a place that is normally "forbidden" to outsiders. It was great experiencing some new...
