Beautiful waterfalls and short hikes mostly in stairs. Entry is free for Connecticut residents. There is a $10 fee for out of state cars for day use, which can be paid through a website. The falls can be seen in a distance from parking itself. The entry is through a nice-looking covered bridge. There are tables where you can do a small picnic. The hike to the top of the falls is short and mostly steps. It's a different view of the falls up the top. So don't miss it.

Beautiful place to visit in the fall! The trail loops up and around the falls and is only 0.7 miles. There are stairs on the way up but not on the latter half of the loop on the other side. If it’s muddy, stick to the stair side. The falls are very serene. The fall colors were magnificent! This is a low risk, high reward stop!

Kent falls state park is easily accessible from main roads and it is cascading falls. Though signs says no swimming allowed but everyone does at different levels. Best place to enjoy is top level since you have clean water supply from the stream. For outside the state folks, $17 parking fee per car. Internet access is not great in the park so secure parking place in advance though no one checked during our stay. Park is hiring for fee collection agents as seasonal employment. To avoid crowds, try to go during Monday to Friday. Out of state drivers, pay the parking fee before coming to park. There has to be someone sitting in the parking lot in unmarked car waiting to ticket you if you are not aware.

Easy to access the state park. Out of state cars will be charged a $15 fee. Though the parking lot is not huge we were able to find a spot pretty easily on a summer weekend morning. As soon as you go through the red covered bridge you can see the picnic area with benches and bbq on your right. There was a birthday party held on the far end. Along with porta potty at the entrance there are more restrooms in the picnic area which I've marked because it's easy to miss, though they are not open all the time, when we went, they were. We chose the white loop. It's an easy hike of 30min to go up and 30min to come down at the slowest pace and suitable for all ages. Little ones will love this. There are benches at some view point to rest up. It was a beautiful and serene surrounded with greenery and the cascading falls right beside you. There are defined stairs at some places and you'll have to climb little high at some slopes, to note in case there are older individuals in the group. If you are adventurous you can choose the red or yellow loop or switch the loops at the top. We were a little confused when we reached the top whether that's the end as shown in the info board or do we have go to further, because we saw people walking further onto the road, later we found out it was for switching loops. Great park to spend the weekend or to take quick hike any day.

What an absolutely beautiful place ! For those who complained about the entrance fee, I'm sure that money is used to upkeep this park. How else would it be so clean and in such prestine condition? Yes, it is small, but you can just relax on the grass after the hike or grab a table and bbq/eat lunch. After a long week at work, this is perfect to unwind ! The trail is a little challenging for those who have never hiked before. Just go slow and easy. You'll see how beautiful it is at the top as the photo ops are endless. You'll get such gorgeous shots ! The 2 hour drive was totally worth every mile !!
