This park was originally left to the community (Oldham County) by the developers of Briar Hill subdivision but other than the open field with basketball, tennis, and volleyball courts and some swing sets and a picnic area it has been somewhat neglected. It appears that some of the wooded area has been "reclaimed" over the years. There ARE about 4-5 miles of mountain biking/hiking trails mostly unmarked that the locals use, but they are primitive and erosion has made them rough to navigate. It's a good workout as they are hilly by most standards but the local MTB community that likes to go fast generally stays away due to the very technical nature of the trails. Many, many hard switchbacks will get your skill set in shape, but the park hold water like mad so winter riding is almost non-existent unless there is a very hard freeze or snow...
Read morePlayground was great and my 6 year old loved the sand volleyball court. We hiked the trails for a little over an hour. This is really a beautiful little forest. There were lots of bright fall colors. Pictures will never do it justice. So many creeks! Little waterfalls here and there. This is not a strenuous hike, but it has a good deal of difficulty due to tree roots, loose rock, little stumps throughout the trails, and several creek crossings where you may or may not get your shoes in water. Personally, I didn't break a sweat or get out of breath and my 6 year old basically ran the entire hike. Would recommend! Especially right now while these leaves are so brightly colored!...
