Crossing the Ohio River between Wickliffe Kentucky and Cairo Illinois, the Cairo Ohio River Bridge carries US Route 51, US Route 60 and US Route 62. It was completed in 1938 and updated/refurbished in 1979.

I've been a fan of this style of bridge for as long as I can remember. This one wins though in sheer length and expanse as it goes over the Ohio River. I need to go over it at some point as a passenger because it is pretty narrow and has a good deal of truck traffic. Once you get on it, you are committed. Be prepared to drive a few miles into Kentucky before you turn around. However, this will also take you too the closest place near Cairo for gas, and you won't have to pay...
