Guist Creek Lake — Attraction in Kentucky

After years of boating at Taylorsville Lake, I got tired of the boating traffic and people just simply not obeying common boating rules with some reckless driving. My wife and I were on a search for a better lake and peaceful lake, close to home were we could take our boat without feeling like we were going to be run over or capsized! I've known about Guist Creek for a while but never really had it on my radar since I didn't want to pay to launch my boat. However, let me tell it that is worth it! My wife and I decided to check out on Labor Day weekend to avoid any traffic and craziness at Taylorsvillle Lake and we were thoroughly impressed with Guist Creek. It's not only close to home (we live in Oldham County) but the staff at the marina were extremely friendly and helpful, the lake was peaceful, the marina was clean and well maintained and other fellow boaters were very courteous and respectful both on the ramp and on the lake. Being at this place was the FIRST time that I had launched and retrieved my boat stress free and thoroughly enjoyed my time at the lake and on a Holiday weekend no less! Guest creek camping is a great place to camp, of course. Good sites, beautiful lake, a little tight for boat drop and pickup, true. This will have to change soon because Anna maries cafe restaurant is the real deal. Beautiful deck dining on the lakeside with $$ pricing. It's going to get really busy here folks. Service was great. This is an amazing place to bring the family and friends for an awesome adventure. They have boat, canoe, & kayak rentals. Theres a place on the lake for water skiing, tubing, they also have a marina with docks, as well as a restaurant. We have seen, (in one day), three bald eagles, several blue herons, several red tail hawks, king fishers, if you're a bird watcher or nature geek this is the place for you. It's AWESOME!!
