One of the few remaining covered bridges in Kentucky, Switzer Covered Bridge is somewhat obscure, located on Elkhorn Creek near the tiny rural community of Peak's Mill, North of Frankfort, Kentucky.
The bridge has been preserved and restored and is in good condition except for excessive graffiti.
The bridge is not open to vehicular traffic and is near a modern highway bridge.
Both ends of the Switzer Covered Bridge bridge are accessible on foot from the nearby highway and the bridge is open to pedestrian traffic.
Limited primitive off-road parking is available at both ends of the bridge.

Unfortunately, this one has succumbed to quite a bit of graffiti, which, in my opinion takes away from the natural beauty of the bridge. It is interesting that we have discovered at least two Kentucky bridges that were restored by Louis Bower and later by his son Stock in 1937. One of the bridges was restored in 1906, and the other one in 1913, according to the commonwealth of Kentucky placard next to the bridge.

I love going out there and reading all of the things that people put on the bridge and I love going underneath the bridge, When you go underneath, you have to be very careful, and you must not be afraid of heights?
