Never did get to try or taste any wine. 4th of July weekend and crowded. When we did get to a station our server seemed a bit curt, tired, hot, and frustrated but otherwise nice (it was the end of the day). As we were given menus with explanations, a woman and her daughter interrupted our conversation and the employee “answered” them immediately and tended to their blatant entitlement attitude (opinion mine). What is disturbing is my wife and children feel because I was wearing a Combat Veteran’s hat she simply pushed us aside and disregarded our customer credibility. We left feeling slighted so I called back and actually spoke to the clerk who “disregarded” us. She disagreed and wanted to “argue” that we were wrong regardless of our perceived discrimination as a military family. Then told us they even give a discount to military etc. Not sure why she never told us that up front or even welcomed us like she was doing all the other guests until AFTER the fact of communicating our disappointment. Regardless, if you are military, support the military, or just a patriot, be careful here. Not everyone thinks or supports us. Which is fine. We’ll never be back or buy any of their products (and will take to our social media circles) and would encourage other military connected people to do the same. At least be sensitive to the fact when visiting. Too many other market segments in this space that do support us and without lip service. A simple “sorry for the misunderstanding, come on back in and we’ll take care of your” or “wondering where you went?” would’ve shown goodwill. The simple fact the clerk got defensive and arrogant right off the bat indicates she was indeed pushing us aside for some reason. Caveat Emptor indeed. Dr....
Read morePurple Toad is a little hidden gem in Western Kentucky. We stopped by this winery on a sunny early fall afternoon. Although we couldn't bring our pups in the store, they have a very nice large seating area on their patio to enjoy a bottle of wine while soaking in the beauty of the grounds. The wine! I cannot say enough amazing things about the wine. Delicious, sweet, aromatic, and smooth. The honey blackberry is my favorite.
This establishment does wine tasting and it was free, which was nice, but there was too many people at the counter and the tasting was quite slow. Additionally , they didn't do a formal taste selection so we couldn't take back to outside to mull over which made it difficult to remember which flavor we tried. Plus having the dogs, one of us had to stay outside with the dogs while the other tasted. Wasn't a big deal except it felt like we were doing shots of wine.
In the end, the experience was good, sitting outside was lovely, and we walked away with a few bottles of what we enjoyed most. Once we got home, each of us ordered a case of wine which arrived nicely packed and in a jiffy!
I have to say, this may be one of my favorite winery's in...
Read moreWent with my son and husband today and had a great experience. My son is in the Navy and we got to go when he came home back in 2023. They offered him a military discount when we went which I thought was great. I went later with my husband who was ex Navy. When we went to check out they asked if he happened to be military. He was, but doesn't have a military id. They still have him the discount. Then the 3 of us went today. My son just came home a few days ago as he has been stationed in Japan for the last 5 years. Since my son had such a a good time thr first time we all went today. Got to try a little of everything. The girls were great with a lot of information. Really accommodating. Plan on going back again before my son leaves to go to his next station. Thanks for a great time.
Just want to say every time I have come back here in the last 2 months the girls have been wonderful. Full of information. Friendly. Thank you all for making each...
