If you're like me you enjoy a super effortless view every once in awhile. Split Bow Arch is a super unique forested arch a mere five minute walk from the parking area at the trailhead. It is smaller than other arches in the area but still distinct and intriguing to look at. Just a five minute walk away is Bear Creek Overlook. If you like how quick and easy Split Bow Arch is, you'll also like the overlooks near Blue Heron Mining Community.

Thursday, October 1, 2020. Enjoy the long gravel ride on your way to the trailhead and parking lot. Plenty of parking, use the trail to the right for the loop to the arch. Well maintained trail. Once you get to the split on the trail, go right to go to the arch and stairs, go left to come up to the arch from the bottom. The arch is huge and flat underneath compared to other arches in the area. .7 miles total.

Incredibly beautiful trail and hiking experience. Easy to moderate in hike. So glad we made the effort to find it. We went early in the morning and we were the only ones there the entire hike. Peaceful and quiet. Fantastic for sharpening your photography skills. Bring bug spray and hiking sticks and you are set.

My wife and I stumbled on this little area while we were traveling on our honeymoon. Several years later, I unknowingly stumble upon it... again! It's a wonderful little geological feature, and the best part is that it is so quiet as most people doesn't get this far off the main roads. As long as you're careful and stay on the paths, you aren't in any danger. Have...
