This is a wonderful place to camp. There are many camp spots that provide nearly total privacy with surrounding trees and rolling banks between them and other sites. The park is dog friendly and there is plenty of room for parking and bringing your toys such as boats or kayaks. Some sites are even accessible by boat only. There is a nice shower house with laundry facilities and there are several bathrooms located throughout the camp ground. They sell firewood and ice at the check in booth at the entrance. Most sites have water and electric (50/30/15 amp) available for RV hookup, and there is a sewage dump station located near the shower house. There is a nearby boat ramp for access to Yatesville Lake a few hundred yards over the hill from the park entrance. Yatesville’s campground is also adjacent to nearby Lawrence County Park which also offers campgrounds, a beach and swimming area, kayak rentals, a general store, miniature golf, and a lot of other amenities. Plenty of shoreline fishing is also available in Lawrence County Park for those who don’t have access to a boat. You can camp at Yatesville and still take advantage of the amenities offered at Lawrence County Park. There is also a larger golf course, Eagle Ridge, very close by, and horseback riding is offered as well. These campgrounds are also not too far from the main highway about 5-7 miles back where there is a Walmart close by for any essential...

We booked a three day Memorial weekend for their "boat-in" campsite 16B. The first thing that happened was we could not find the site. After several trips around the lake we found the spot with the help of the staff at the marina. The site was marked by a 2 x 2 sign nailed to a tree that was almost impossible to see. The next issue was what they consider boat-in sites. You have to CLIMB the side of a steep embankment of sandstone to reach the site. everything you need in order to camp must be packed up the mountainside so if you aren't strong and healthy, dragging tents, chairs, food, etc up the side of a mountain is virtually impossible. The area where you are supposed to leave your boat is nothing but enormous sandstone rocks that would shred a boat with the waves crashing up against the bank. It was the worst experience we have ever had camping. The site itself was fine, there was no issue with the site at all or even the staff who came around bringing wood and ice if you need it. I would consider the sight a "hike-in" sight and NO BOATING. The state park needs to let people know that in their description of the site because those sites are not for the weekend warrior camper. They are more geared towards the super outdoors type who doesn't mind pretending to be a mountain goat in order to get to their campsite. I will never book another...

Worst camping experience ever, will never be back. I have camped for many years and many states. I have never once have had issues with any park and any state. I have actually camped within Kentucky parks too. I will never return to yatesville ever, worst campground ever. We arrived over Memorial Day weekend, had a hike in site, asked where to go, was directed by the camp in host/ maintenance where to park to unload/load. It was fine Friday. Or, so we thought!!! We unloaded, got our tents up, etc! We did not plan on staying at the campgrounds all weekend, only to sleep! So, we leave Saturday morning and get back Saturday evening and have a paper with the rules at our site with things circled. We thoughts it was strange, considering we were gone all day Saturday, so that was confusing. Another issue we had when it was time to leave we got blocked in by boaters taking up the “loading” area as we were told To park there to load, my vehicle was threatened to be towed and then the worked almost hit myself, my dog and my children! So I will not only report them, will be seeking legal action for harassment as he followed close down the path while I was carrying all my baggage harassing my family, my camping gear. I will never return! The communication was zero on rules and...
