The back entrance is a more direct route to hiking trails in the woods, don't have to drive through all the rest of the park. Very easy gravel trails, mostly shaded. Park offers several different playground areas, a small waterpark, a lake, picnic shelters and a Pioneer Village. The boundaries on Google maps are way off, it is a much bigger park.

I spent a week at Yellow Creek Park recently, camping through ROMP FEST 2022. The park was AMAZING. Scenic, well-designed and equipped, clean and beautifully maintained. I'm eager to go back next year. I highly recommend the park (with or without the bluegrass music!)...especially to families with kids. There's something for everyone.

Beautiful county park with over 200 acres I think. Ball diamonds and sports fields are up front, and then a neat old train display welcome you to the ther recreation, lake, and shelter areas, driving further you end up in a rear parking lot beside a major creek. You can walk across the old iron bridge, then up the hill to find multiple wooded trails on the right.on the left a complete recreated pioneer village with a furnished one room schoolhouse, log cabins with big porches, a barn and a complete blacksmith shop. This is the site for a huge bluegrass music festival (ROMP) that will see over 30,000...

Beautifully maintained. Walk trail is wonderful wth a little creek running throuhg the park. The small rustic love bridge is a must see so are the log cabins. Just up front next to the troop carrier are three big bird cages with bird inside each. I saw an Owl in one...even said hello to me...and an Turkey vulture on another. Go during the day time when you can enjoy the beautiful scenery and will be able to see and photograph the birds..you will love this YELLOW CREEK PARK. I did and so did my three beautiful and adorable nieces...and oh! expect to get wet at the water...

Beautiful park. They do an incredible job of keeping it clean, clearing trails, signage, events, trails, shelters, playgrounds- it’s all beautiful and well maintained. They also put on ROMP (a bluegrass music festival) every year here and they work so hard to ensure that it is ready and looking as beautiful as can be before the festival. There is a great disc golf course, a bridge over the creek, pioneer village, as well as an array of native trees and plants -many with markers along the trails There is also a small spray pad near one of the playgrounds which is...
