Absolute gem. Beautiful inflated wood with artifacts in cabinets and display cases. Definitely worth the journey to see. Everything including the building was made by the owner. All artifacts were found by the owner along the Des Moines River and its small tributaries.

Bentonsport is a delightful place to visit and we have enjoyed strolling through this quaint and charming Iowa riverside town and its beautiful surroundings on several occasions. Last visit I just happened to come across this gem while walking through the village. A collection of local arrow and spear points amassed over a lifetime is displayed in the most beautiful hand-crafted wooden parquet-style cases, and this is all housed in an building covered inside from floor to roof with the same master wood-crafting. Just amazing! So much to see & learn in what looks like a plain backyard shed from the outside. You soon realize you are standing inside a work of art. The creator and proprietor is a friendly gentleman who was happy to share many fascinating details that enrich a visitor's knowledge and appreciation. I've been to museums across the country, big and small, and this one is...

My sister took me out to Tony's place last Sunday - she had been there several times. We had to find Tony in his garden to get into his museum and it was stunning. He found every artifact himself walking along creek and river beds in the area. The artifacts are interesting enough on their own but his wood working skills make the displays, ceiling and walls really special. The drive to Bonaparte and Bentonsport was scenic and both towns have a lot of charm and great restored homes. Well...
