Smith Hollow Farm is wonderful place to visit as a family no matter what the age. We were searching for a location that would be a comfortable drive from the Greenville, NC are and the Charlotte, NC are. We had chosen to take the drive to Smith Hollow Farm to spend the afternoon together as a family. The Ladies that greeted us at the entrance were warm and friendly and explained the layout of the Farm. They have a quaint bakery, shop and snack stand to meet your hunger, thirst and items to take home as a memory of your visit. We took the Hayride that takes you in a loop around the Farm and makes a stop in front of the Corn Maze. You are able to exit and get back on at your convenience. There were several Horses and other livestock to see. The Horses enjoyed the attention and petting. It was very nice to see all of the animals very well taken care of. Everyone throughout the Farm were incredibly kind and polite. As a family, we all had a great time walking and riding through the Farm and taking several pictures. While getting ready to leave, we were faced with trying to find a good place to eat. One of the Ladies at the Entrance / Exit were kind enough to recommend Palenque Mexican Grill Restaurant. What a great recommendation. Thank You for making this an enjoyable day and ending with a fine meal. We look forward to...
Read moreThe park itself is fine, nothing spectacular, but still nice. However, my issue was with the parking. The “main” lot was “full” (quotes because while walking through towards entrance we could see plenty of parking spaces) so people were being directed to park on the side by the road, the bed of our truck stuck out into the road a bit, so the person directing us said we could park in another field...we assumed the one directly behind us. However when we followed the guy, we ended up across the street, like not even on smith hollow road, so we had to cross the busy hastings hill rd. While walking towards entrance, we saw people being parked on the side of another road, where our truck would have plenty of room, and then while leaving the lot behind the main lot had cars in it, and we remained the ONLY vehicle, and ONLY family to park in a random field and have to cross...
Read moreOur daughter came home for the first time since we took her to college in August, so we wanted to do something really special. We didn't just want to get our pumpkins at a box store, we wanted to have a wholesome family experience, and boy, did SHF exceed expectations! We loved the apple-chucking, the corn maze, the swings, the animals, and the picturesque ambience of a Hallmark movie. I think my favorite feature was the activity that allowed us to purchase a jar of water for $7, and pick all of the zinnias that we wanted to create our own unique bouquet 💐. We spent the most perfect day there, and can't wait to take our oldest daughter there when she comes to visit later this month. We have decided that this will be a family tradition that we will love for...
