The first 3 and a half miles into the hike is quite easy if you are coming from the Tin Cup Trailhead. After the 3 and a half mile mark this trail turns into quite the butt kicker! It has steep switch backs and the tail way is narrow, definitely watch your step on these parts of the trail loosing your balance taking pictures has happened and there is no where to go but down a nasty rock wall covered mountain! The higher you go the more majestic the scenery! The trail has it's scary moments like all others but there is nothing like turning around and seeing what's behind you only to discover that you can see the whole valley along with White Cloud Mountain peak! As you continue the climb and go over the bridge don't give up, your so close to the pond and Alice Lake is right around the...
Read moreI am an avid hiker from outside the area. Much of this trail is hiking on loose rock and sometimes bouldering Several stream crossings and going over and under fallen trees. I don’t mind challenges but most of the time is spent focusing on your steps you can’t enjoy the beauty around you. The lake is pretty but enjoyed sawtooth lake much more. If you are visiting and just want a trail that will get you to pretty lakes do bench lake or sawtooth trail. If you are looking for a 14 mile grueling trail to give you challenges and a workout like no other do Alice lake. Just an honest opinion from someone who is visiting and hikes all over the...
