DO NOT VISIT THIS HORRIBLE PLACE!! I went to Cape Florida Lighthouse on July 10, 2023 (yesterday) the day of my birthday to celebrate. We got to the park around 10:00 am and started doing some barbecue on the barbecue area. While we were barbecuing there were security golf cars going around us constantly; one of them, a lady named Maria even came to us and told us to move the barbecue somewhere else. We finished and headed to the beach around 1:00 pm. It wasn’t until around 4:00 pm that I got out of the water and checked my phone and saw that 2 of my banks were emailing me about suspicious activity on both of my accounts. We rushed to the car and found the rear window broken and my ID, AirPods, Keys, Wallet with cards and key tags and purse missing. We immediately called the security that was conveniently passing by at that exact moment and then 2 more security guards came as well including the lady named Maria that had told us to move the barbecue previously. They told us that they had been going around but that they didn’t see anything, or heard anything even though when a window is broken like that it makes a really loud noise, plus the alarm of the car that went off as well. The emails that the banks sent me had 1:44 as time of attempted money withdrawal at an ATM on Little Haiti, meaning it had been already around 3 to 4 hours since it had happened. I don’t know what you guys think but how is it that not a single security saw all the glass shattered on the floor, the car window broken and didn’t hear anything in the WHOLE LAST 4 HOURS!!??. It took the police around an hour to get there, they told us it was because if traffic. When they finally arrived they opened an investigation and the other security guards were gone by then, the only one that stayed was Maria conveniently told the police she went to count money at 1:00 pm. We will continue to follow the investigation with the police and I will get to bottom of this. Another lady that was on the beach ran out with us when she heard what had happened and told us that she had heard there had been another 7 cases like this recently. My advice is simply DO NOT VISIT THIS PLACE IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO...

The Cape Florida Lighthouse is a historic landmark located at the southern tip of Key Biscayne in Miami-Dade County, Florida. It was built in 1825 and is the oldest standing structure in Miami-Dade County. The lighthouse was originally built to guide ships around the Florida Reef, which starts near Key Biscayne and extends southward a few miles offshore of the Florida Keys.

The lighthouse has a long and storied history. It has survived hurricanes, erosion, and even an attack by Seminole Indians. In 1836, a group of Seminole Indians attacked the lighthouse and its keeper, John Thompson. Thompson was killed, but his wife and children were able to escape. The lighthouse was eventually rebuilt and continued to serve as a beacon for ships until it was decommissioned in 1947.

In 1966, the lighthouse was acquired by the state of Florida and is now part of Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park. Visitors can tour the lighthouse and learn about its history. The lighthouse is also a popular spot for fishing, bird watching, and hiking.

Here are some of the things you can do at the Cape Florida Lighthouse:

Take a tour of the lighthouse and learn about its history. Enjoy the panoramic views from the top of the lighthouse. Go fishing in the ocean or Biscayne Bay. Bird watch in the park. Hike the trails in the park. Watch the sunset over the bay.

The Cape Florida Lighthouse is a great place to learn about Florida history and enjoy the beauty of the natural environment. I highly recommend visiting it if you are ever in...

Key Biscayne has a lot to offer especially in good weather. Contained there by way of the Rickenbacker Causeway is Crandon Park, Bill Baggs Park, Seaquarium, and Cape Florida Lighthouse just to name a few destinations. All share the outdoor life one could partake including skating, biking, (running if you want to do that! ), swimming, sun bathing, picnicking, sailing, boating, walking thru trails, and any other outdooor endeavor. We chose Cape Florida Lighthouse. The drive was quite scenic as one could imagine. The Atlantic Ocean on one side and Biscayne Bay on the other. The whole area is quite popular and crowded which you know affects traffic so don't be in a hurry and leave yourself plenty of time to see what you care to see or do. Parking can be quite a challenge with limited spaces so be prepared. There is a $8 charge to the entrance of the Park to see the Lighthouse and any other activity you wish to engage in. The Lighthouse does have tours at specific days and times or just enjoy the view historic information present around the Lighthouse. There is a wonderful Lighthouse Cafe nearby with a good menu and reasonable prices. Not a lot of seating so timing could be a challenge. We ate there with no problem. There is wheel chair access. Animals need to be leashed and only allowed in certain areas. The whole place is very Latin American friendly (you may think you are not even in America). A visit is well worth the time if have it and love...
