This is undeveloped property and should really be called a state game area. There are no published trails and I am wildly guessing, it's mostly used as a local fishing and hunting area. There's farmland between the lake and the entrance and no visible trails. There are absolutely no signs announcing the park on the roadways (I guess that's good so more visitors won't be disappointed). There's a tiny parking area and just a DNR sign. There's no lake access via trail. You would have to follow hunting trails and wear Orange if you do. Visitors beware if you are not a hunter, most reviews here are about the lake accessed via other means and not of the park.

We came here to get our hundredth and final geocache for the Michigan State Park Centennial Geotour. It was nice to get out of the car and stretch our legs for a little bit, take a short walk. On a warmer day, it would be nice to take the trail farther and see how long it goes. It was kind of nice in the winter, though, because everything wasn't overgrown.

Just absolutely Beautiful. Great places to eat in surrounding areas. Clays restaurant had a Buffet or you can order whatever you'd like. Stoagies has great food. Built within an old house in Coldwater historical district. Waitresses could have been better. Coldwater lake is a place to be. Lovely view.

Great spot for young and beginner hunters. It does get packed in but this very small acreage produces deer. It's common to see huge tracks and nice buck sign but dont count on seeing anything with more than 6 points until after dark. Everyone that goes there is nice and tries to stay out of your way. Remember it's very small. 5 stars for young and beginner hunters, 1 star for big bucks. Also good for pheasant and squirrels. Set up for hunting. Too think for trailers and dog walkers. If you dont have a boat it's a nice place to fish the shore and drop off but you have take a long walk to reach it, but sometimes...

Coldwater State Park is a natural area teeming with wildlife, making it a promising destination for nature enthusiasts. The presence of hiking trails adds to the appeal, although it's disappointing that the park lacks amenities, offering only a couple of small unimproved parking areas. The apparent neglect and scarcity of signs make it challenging to locate and navigate the park effectively. However, if you're willing to overlook these shortcomings, the park's untouched wilderness and wildlife make for a serene and immersive...
