Be mindful of where the tide is and where it is in the cycle. The beach is very flat so when the tide is low the beach is wide, broad and expansive. With a high tide you'll have to simply look as the water can come up to the cliffs edge.
Beautiful views especially if it is clear and you can see to the north. The rock formations on the south end offer excellent framing for photos.
Self pay parking lot is $10. Trail to the breach via a short but steep path then 101steps ( I counted ) down to the beach.

Read moreNice little beach and not hard to get to. The walk is a quick one and easy going down. Coming back up is a little tougher because the stairs but nothing that should deter you from coming. There were people surfing and a good amount of people just relaxing. We didn't find any sand dollars but there were lots of cool shells and sand crabs if you want to dig a little. It's pretty exposed and there is no real shade so make sure you wear your sun screen. There are also lots of rocks on the cliff side but there is also a good amount of sand to play in. Read moreI've spent a lot of time on that beach as a young kid and then as a teenager. We would spend weeks and weekends at plasket creek campground. We hung out with some Hippy's which was fun to do. Big Sur is just down the road. I counted 101 steps going down to the beach plus the trail. I wonder if it still the same 101 steps. This is where I sent my step brothers grunion hunting. I laughed so hard at them. Sent them down with paper bags to catch them with. Good memories...
