Captain Thomas Byrne (c. 1827 - 1881). Thank you from saving the people from starvation twice (may Henry Eastman rot in Hell), and saving the people from extermination by violence thrice: you have not, and you will not, been forgotten. Where your bunk once was, I have left for you a bottle of whiskey just in case Heaven runs out. Thank you, Hualapai enlisted men, J. W. Mason's command: your service has also not been forgotten, though Crook treated you abominably.

Interesting place and worth the stop to check it out. Kingman has a lot of history and this little area around the springs is full of history. If you hike through the this area you can access the climbing wall and you can also meet up with other trails hiking connecting to the Beal Loops or go under the highway to connect with Monolith Gardens and Coyote Pass.

Very nice to visit a great place of history!! Today the wind was blowing, pretty chilly but the sun was out....kinda weird having my hands freeze while walking in the desert.
