Not for public swimming, no designated green space shore buffer either as lake is mostly shorefront homes with no trails for hiking around. Oddly built as a water source reservoir but was more obviously constructed to promote local real estate ventures in mind. Being way overburdened with residential development has thus resulted in dauntingly poor water quality! This 'water source' was more designed to sell homes for power boating buyers, and thus it requires major water treatment to supply the city of Kings Mountain with drinking water. Definitely don't eat anything from this lake and take care not to fall in! Otherwise be sure to keep one's head above the surface or risk a brain eating...
Read moreMy husband and I stayed here for 2 nights on Oct. 23-25, 2020. We stayed in spot 2 which is really Easy to back our 37ft. Camper in. “D” was the gentleman who assist the reservation. He held his word and called me upon an opening. Cute little playground for kids onsite. Each spot has full hookup with a picnic table and fire ring and grill. Everyone was respectful of your space and very friendly. I hung out on the lake with my shih tzu and watch the boats. Cop frequently hung around which was really nice. Read moreThis place has been a little gem we will definitely be returning to! Affordable stay, and the guys in the office are so kind and accommodating. My husband was having issues with his truck and they bent the "2 weeks in 1 spot" rule for us, until we could get it fixed. Beautiful and peaceful park, small but cozy and they don't have campers on top of each other. Cute little playground for the kids and a nice couple spots to sit and watch the water.
