One of the nicest rest areas / dog walking area I've been to. It is kept extremely clean and tiddy, with everything in a nice place. A historic style room where anyone can learn about the early settlers in the area and see some of the items on display from years ago. So many of the pamphlets you can think of for the area and surrounding state attractions you need a big bag to get all the good ones. Last but not least it has has plenty of snack and drink machines along with a microwave, kurig, & maybe a toaster or a few other items. There is parking for several semis around back and a couple buse spots at the curb back there. The regular vehicles park around front mostly but will pull in the back if pulling trailers or a RV. Not to be long winded in a rest area review but some are disgusting and this ome is just a smaller one tucked away and really nice with some of the best staff I've meet in rest areas are at this location, They are all top notch, always presentable, friendly, & very helpful if needed.
P.S. If you go by when it's a little chilly there's a sweet little spot where you can sit in rockers at...

Read moreI have never been to a welcome center that has employees that actually care about your visit and info for all the places you could go in TN not just Kingsport, they have a great selection of beverages and snacks. A new Keurig coffee machine (Cappuccino is my favorite), they have a dog walking trail for our 4 legged family members and covered picnic table so, while you are traveling you could eat atleast 1 meal outside of your car and have a great view of the local mountains, it really is a great view. Also, check out all of the different attractions and hotel coupons and offers in the neat lounge area. The Staff is willing to help you with any plans you would like, just ask them and see how many different options you will have. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE, if I go to Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg, this is my 1st stop to get coupons and find out about any special activities that are going in at the time I...
