It was okay. I drove 2 hours to visit for the tulip festival. If the drive was shorter for me, i feel it would be more worth it. I rate it more 3-stars for my experience, but it isn't their fault I drove so far. So, I'm giving it 4-stars based on the experience once I got there.
The good: the staff was so friendly and kind! They're great! There's a donkey that gets mad when you walk away from him, and it's adorable. There's several things for children to climb on, some swings, and some slides. I had a funnel cake, it was good. The tulips were beautiful, and a great place to take pictures. They wrap the tulips you pick in brown paper so you can take them home, and encourage you to plant the bulbs if you accidentally pull a bulb up with the flower!
The not-so-good: you can get a combo ticket for $25 when you enter for entry, 6 tulips, and a lemonade. Decent deal. But, the lemonade is made with Splenda and I actually had heartburn and tasted artificial lemon for several hours after choking some of it down. When I hear "fresh lemonade," I assume lemons, water, sugar. It looked like an artificial yellow color (we are dye free in our household, so i try to be aware of that. I didnt ask, though. I ended up not finishing the lemonade, nor letting my children drink anymore). A few of the tricycles were broken, but still there. There's a dozen or more, so there was plenty for them to ride on.
The "could go either way" notes: The cow was alone in a corner in a small pen. I don't know much about cows, it could have been perfectly happy there, getting pets every once in a while. When you walk into the farm, you can see everything, no matter where you stand. You can see the cow, the trikes, the goats and donkey, the concessions, the tulip fields, the entrance. It was good, because I could always see my 3 and 7 year olds. But, it was a little bit of a letdown upon arrival because of the distance I drove. They only have port-o-potties. They were extremely clean, though!
Overall, if you're local, it was nice. If you're not, it may not be worth the drive if that's the only thing you're...
Read moreI had the best time! My guy and I did the corn maze. It was super fun. I love that they added in the mystery and gathering clues. It definitely have a unique touch. I found the perfect pumpkin in the patch. There were so many places to take photos. (Which I love). I also enjoyed being able to snag a photo with one of the beautiful sunflowers grown there. They sold pumpkin pies on a stick. They were so good. They were a little pricy ($4 each), but it was delicious. I definitely wish I would have gotten two. The weather was not perfect for this outing.. It rained the night prior. The fields were very muddy, but I feel like this added to the overall experience in a positive way. I would suggest clothes and shoes that you don't mind getting dirty. It is family oriented and perfect for kids. Definitely check it out if you...
Read moreIf you have kids I think it’s a great place to go to. We wanted just to buy strawberries. I think it was expensive at $10 a piece to walk in and buy strawberries and walk back out. I wouldn’t minded to pay $5 for me to go in and purchase the strawberries. My daughter would not have come in. I’m in my sixties, daughter late 30s. This was great place for the children to come play and $10 was a great price. I should have asked before we paid and walked in and realized that’s all we were really there for. I think you should make a special price for those wanting to buy strawberries only. $40 for a total of 10 minutes was very pricey. It was our first time and we had been looking forward to it. Not sure I would travel the distance again...
