Kenedy Ranch Museum-South Tx — Attraction in Kingsville

Wow! What an unexpected delight. I drove through town to see the courthouse, and this museum caught my eye. Gorgeous building, and the displays are amazing. There aren't too many actual artifacts, but there are murals/paintings covering the walls in three downstairs rooms. You pick up a handheld audio player from the front desk, and type in the number under the piece of mural you want to learn about. A brilliant way of telling the story without having you read panel after panel after panel. The narrator had an engaging voice, and the information he was presenting was very interesting. Very fascinating and well presented story of the King & Kenedy families and south Texas. Small, three room museum but gives great background and details on the regional and family histories from the 1850’s on. Presentation is mainly on signs with pictures and stories told on each subject. Large wall dioramas without any supporting details - which would have been very helpful.
