Fond memories of family going here when it was a private lake owned by my fathers employer and we got to go there mom had to fibb tothe officials at the lake to get me in swimming class as I was always doggy paddling to the rope and sneaking under it trying to get to my big brother who was on the anchored floating platform I was only 4 yrs old and had no fear and knew I could make it no problem except mom would start calling me as she could not swim herself so she decided it was time I learned officially to swim and be certified to go where I wanted but problem was you were supposed to be a minimum age of 5 yrs old that was in a few months so mom said iwas and I was in and couldn't wait and completed the course no problem that was the summer of 1964 Haven't been back since but always wanted to make that swim to the platform. I now live in the state of Colorado on the western slope as they say Grand Junction area. My Father's parents use to own a house in Montclair, N.J. that place had a very troubled history and truly was haunted from what had happened there . enjoy this lake it's a treasure and wish I could drive that magical drive to the lake of...
