Another day in this beautiful corner of my world, love getting back to nature. This park is located in the middle of the city less than 5 mins from the Kirkland Costco. There's no place like Bridle Trails state park. NOTE: PLEASE DON'T PICK THE TRILLIUM, (pictured) the flowers head becomes a seed pods for the years that follow. The park entrance is just off 116th with a parking lot($5.00 parking fee, I would look into buying a discovery pass so you can keep coming back) bathrooms, drinking fountain, tables and several walking trails. Pick up some food and have a nice picnic or take your pup on a walk. Fresh air with alot of nature. There are several marked trails so you can pick the route you want to take. Lots of summer activity in the park, go online and check them out. I'm a local and was born and raised in the area and have been using the park for 50 years. Trails can be wet/muddy after it rains or take note and you might want to wear some boots, but don’t let that change your mind because everyday in the park is a good day rain or shine, go see what the park has to...

Hubby and I decided to take an afternoon hike here, and we had no clue it's a state park and a discovery pass is required. We parked at the parking lot closer to the entrance, and we bought an annual discovery pass.
Other than the starting incline, there is nearly no inclination for this trail. It's rather family friendly if your kids aren't afraid of horses or horse poops as I saw two horses and gazillion poops. It's funny how there is a sign that identifies the differences between horse poop and dog poop lol.
The whole trail is shaded except for a small part. There are three recommended routes and the signs are quite obvious, but it's also easy to walk elsewhere as there are so many routes in this park. We were going for the middle length route, but ended up finishing the bigger loop instead and it took a bit more than an hour. There were also tons of salmonberries next to the trail that's perfect for a healthy snack for...
Read moreLovely little forest park near the city which apparently is frequently used by horses (though I didn’t see any, the “evidence” ;) of horses is certainly present). I liked the smaller trails that shoot off the side of the main trails best, as there weren’t any other people there (which is why I run away into the forest after all haha). Even the main trails seemed pretty calm though for a beautiful Sunday afternoon… if it’s like that all the time it’s certainly a gem near the city, but due to its relatively small size it wouldn’t take that many people to make it feel crowded… also you have to have a Discovery Pass if you park in the Park. If you don’t mind walking you can likely find a spot in the surrounding areas like I did, but there isn’t a whole lot in the immediate area, so on a busy day you might have to walk a long way or just pay for the pass (which isn’t too bad, $10 for the day or $30 for the whole year at any...
