A super-fantastic place for a semi-challenging walk/hike.
There are two different sides to enter this Lake Metro Park: either on the S.R. 306 side or the Hobart Road side. I always use the Hobart Road entrance, which has the newly-built pavilion with two fireplaces in it.
If you're looking for a relatively flat waking experience, this is not your park. Go to nearby Gully Brook Park. This park has lots of hills, though none are dangerous, or even particularly challenging (you'll never have to use your hands to steady or pull yourself up). Read moreThe North Chapin Reservation is an absolute gem of a park! I recently visited and was blown away by the beauty of the natural surroundings and the well-maintained facilities. The hiking trails are well-marked and offer breathtaking views of the surrounding wilderness.
One of the highlights of my visit was the lighted trail at night. It was a unique experience to hike through the forest under the soft glow of the trail lights. It felt like I was in a fairytale! I would highly recommend anyone visiting the North Chapin Reservation to take advantage of this incredible opportunity.
Overall, I would highly recommend the North Chapin Reservation to anyone looking for a peaceful and enjoyable outdoor experience. It's a true hidden gem that should...

Large hills, and big drops can make this park difficult to traverse off trail, but the unique scenery is totally worth it. As this is the only park I've ever seen a royal blue...
